Terms & Acceptable Use

Short, practical rules for using L-Scan.

Last updated: 2026-10-04

Hobby project, no warranty

L-Scan is a non-commercial hobby project provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, change or be discontinued at any time, and the operator is not liable for how you use it.

Authorized targets only

You may only use the tools against systems, domains, IP addresses, files or data that you own or are explicitly authorized to test. Unauthorized scanning may be illegal in your jurisdiction and is your responsibility.

Prohibited use

You must not use this project for:

  • illegal scanning or testing of systems you are not authorized to assess;
  • abuse, harassment, spam or excessive automation;
  • scraping, denial-of-service attempts or other disruptive activity;
  • credential abuse, malware, phishing or fraud;
  • circumventing access controls, security measures, rate limits or bot protection.

Network diagnostics only

The scanning, port-check and subdomain-discovery features are intended for legitimate diagnostics on targets you control or are authorized to test. Do not use them for reconnaissance against third parties without permission.

Accuracy of results

Results can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Network conditions, filtering and timing all affect what a scan can see. Do not rely on the output as the sole basis for any security or operational decision.

Fair use

The service applies bot verification and rate limiting to keep it available for everyone. Do not attempt to bypass these protections or place an unreasonable load on the service or on the targets you scan.

Reporting security issues

Found a vulnerability in L-Scan itself? Responsible disclosure is welcome. See /.well-known/security.txt for the current security contact, or use the contact details in the Privacy Policy.

Privacy

Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy. By using this project you acknowledge that the target you enter is transmitted to the server to perform the requested check.
